Small Town Walls is a passion project I've developed to reorient my focus for 2021 on three primary goals: to exercise my large-scale lettering skills regularly, to use my work to promote some of my favorite weird places and to find a way to bring more art & culture to small towns across America.
Over the course of 2021, I will paint a mural in my home studio celebrating one unique small town from every state in the US. Each of these pieces will be accompanied by a blog article sharing information about the selected town- noteworthy factoids like the city's Hometown Heros, This Town in History, Must Eats, and similar odd & interesting tidbits.
My hope is that by putting my small spotlight on these hidden gems, I can help them shine in the public eye as much as they deserve to. In the modern era of commuter-cities and urban development, let's not forget to visit all those charming, wacky, and absolutely wonderful small towns out there!
SMALL TOWN WALLS IS...
Morgan Summers is a muralist, lettering artist, and designer currently based out of her own small hometown of Lynn Haven, Florida.
After living in Orlando for seven years and working primarily on digital graphics, Morgan was called to return to her roots & start getting her hands dirty again following the rollercoaster that was 2020.
If she's not slinging paint in her garage/studio, you can probably find Morgan learning to play a sixty-year-old guitar, making weird videos for the internet, or hunting down old signage for inspiration.
